Glitter is all the rage right now, isn't it? I see it everywhere and on everyone. I've been wanting to get Adair some glittery shoes, but they are always more than I want to pay. After I saw a pair at Target, I thought I could make them myself! So, here's a little DIY for you. And certainly, you could make these for YOU, not just for baby!
Supplies needed:
Supplies needed:
- Tacky glue
- Glitter
- A paintbrush
- Shoes (Got mine at Goodwill for $2!)
Directions:
First, make sure the shoes are good and clean.
First, make sure the shoes are good and clean.
Once they are clean and DRY, start painting them with glue. I did this in sections, which made it much easier. You want a good layer of glue, but don't put it on too thick or it will slide and get all gunky. (Gunky should certainly be a word, don't you think?)
Next, pour on the glitter. Make sure you put plenty on. You can shake the shoe a bit to remove the excess, then make sure you've covered all of the glue spots.
Continue doing this until the entire shoe has been glittered. You might have to wait a bit for the glue to dry between each section so you can still hold it while you work. It's up to you.
Let them dry for a LONG time. I'd give it at least 24 hours before you wear them.
I already had the glitter, glue, and paintbrush, so this little project only cost me $2! How awesome is that? And I have PLENTY of glitter left, so if some comes off of Addie's shoes, I can easily fix it. :)

Happy glittering!
(If you make some glittery shoes, I'd love to see them! Please share!)
