Some Changes

Recently, I was talking to a friend of mine about blogging. We were discussing both our joys and struggles with the whole thing. Then, she said this to me:

Does your writing make a difference? Does it matter?

Talk about powerful. I haven't been able to get her words out of my head.

You know, I like to think that my writing does make a difference -at least some of it. Sure, some of my posts go unread and recipes and DIY projects probably don't turn peoples lives around, (unless, of course, there's bacon involved) but it's the kind of life we live that I hope makes the difference. Not that we are shining stars or have a perfect family, by any means. You all know me well enough to know that. I just hope people are inspired to live a life based on love - to make ordinary days special - to eat well - to get out and experience creation - to appreciate beautiful music - to love your family with all your soul.

But, I can do more. We can ALWAYS do more.

So, you might see some changes around here. I'm going to start writing more about things that aren't necessarily about me or my family. I'm going to start using my influence (as tiny as it may be) to get the word out about making a difference in this world of ours. There is power in the written word and I believe that bloggers really can change the world.

A few months back, I became a member of The Mission List. It is the perfect platform for using my influence for good. If you are a blogger looking to do the same, you should check it out. The Mission List is the organization behind the 10 days challenge I wrote about yesterday. If you didn't get a chance to donate, make sure you do. It's pretty amazing that only $25 can bring one person clean water for LIFE.

I'm excited to make these changes and to take you along with me. The conversation that happens in this little internet space is so wonderful. I appreciate you so much. You need to know that.

Have a lovely weekend,

Lacy
