The Common Denominator of a Particularly Fabulous Weekend

I couldn't think of a better title.

This weekend was incredible. We spent it in Kansas City with family - relaxing and eating our way through the 3-day weekend.

In celebration of my birthday (tomorrow!) Phil took me on TWO dates. Thanks to the babysitting services of Phil's brother and family, we were able to sneak away for a couple of hours on Saturday night, to enjoy tapas at one of our favorite places, La Bodega.
Mojito & Alcachofas y Jamón con Aioli (Deep fried artichokes with ham & red pepper aioli)
Pintxos de Higo (Toast with goat cheese, fig coulis, & red pepper)
Datiles con Jamón y Chorizo (Pancetta wrapped dates, stuffed with chorizo)
Crema Cocida Trio (Panna Cotta Trio - Wild Berry, Gran Marnier, Spanish Coffee)
We repeated our little food outing the next morning with brunch at Bluestem. This was our first visit and I cannot wait to go back. You know my love for brunch! This was incredible...
Creme Fraiche Donuts with Pear Butter
Phil: Scrambled Eggs with Fried Chicken, Biscuits & Gravy, Spicy Bloody Mary
Lacy: Fried Green Tomato Eggs Benedict with Home Fries & Greens, Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
Later on that day we took all the girls out for fancy snow cones from Little Freshie. They have unique and delicious flavors like lemon prickly pear, blackberry lavender, orange rosemary, and banana cardamom. So refreshing and fun!
So, as you can tell, the common denominator of a particularly fabulous weekend is food. Wonderful, delicious, beautiful food. I am a happy woman! How was your weekend? Eat anything fabulous?
